Labor Vibes

As you can imagine, I am ready to go at any time now. I'm currently 5 days away from my due date and movement and working (pretty much anything) is hard work and pretty miserable right now. I've gotten lots of suggestions on how to get this baby to emerge, but I have come to terms with the fact that she'll get here when she's ready and not a minute sooner. I'm not sure what is keeping her. It could be the foods I've been subjecting her to lately. Unlike early on in the pregnancy, I've been allowing myself to indulge lately and it's a possibility she likes it. In speaking with her earlier during the pregnancy, I thought that it was clear that I wanted her to vacate the premises no later than the 1st of May. I didn't however get it in writing so, lesson learned. Please everyone send me some labor vibes. Last night, every ache that I had got me thinking I was going into labor until I realized that the pain didn't hurt quite enough to be a contraction. There must be an end in site. She can't stay in there forever. Or can she?

The Devastating Cut

It was a normal April day. Not much had gone on. I was pregnant as usual. My husband was playing golf as usual. My plans after work were to pick up some sweet snacks for cooper, take him to get his hair cut, go to the grocery store, and then if I still felt like it, go to the gym. How was I to know that the day would be cut short by the "Devastating Cut".

I stopped at the Exxon for my ammunition. I got only the essentials (nutter butters, whoppers, oreos, and apple juice). I picked up Coop at school and headed to the Barber Shop. When I got there everything was normal. Men were getting their hair cut, talking about man things, and Cooper was acting like he owned the place. Steve had no idea what he was in for.

I started with the obvious best ammunition. The Whoopers. Cooper got in the chair and Steve attemped to put a cape on him. It was a no go. That was cool. Who needs a cape anyway? It's a lot more difficult to eat your snack with that on. Then he got out the scissors. That is when the chaos began. Cooper began to act as if bats were trying to attack his head. He swung his elbows to the left. Then the right. He had his eyes on those scissors like he thought they may take on a life of their own and attack him. Meanwhile, he was trying to shove as many Whoopers as he could into his mouth. Screaming and ranting and raving wasn't going to keep him from eatting those whoppers. I tried to distract him, but my efforts were not helping. Steve managed to get the mullet under control. Now it was time for the front and around the ears. I suggested we turn the TV to Sponge Bob Square Pants. I thought for sure this would distract him. By this time, I had given up on the ammunition. Cooper was too smart for this though. He managed to watch TV and the scissors at the same time. I had no idea he was so skilled. The only option I had left was to put the child in a full head and arm lock and allow Steve to finish it up. I knew it was going to be hard and that a lot of screaming was going to be involved, but it had to be done. I had run out out of options so I did it. I told Steve to get ready and I went in for the head and arm lock. I was right about the screaming, but in the end he got the cut. I'm not sure what caused the child to hate hair cuts so bad, but I'm thinking that hair cuts are a father/son activity in the future.

The WeeWee Player

It looks as though Cooper has finally destroyed his weewee player. I knew it wouldn't last forever, but who would have thought that it would be this short-lived. One cannot prepare themselves for events like this. I can still remember the moment when I realized it wasn't going to play anymore like it was yesterday. Wait, it was yesterday. Oh well, please take a minute to remember the good times you may have experienced with the weewee player.

Last One you're gettin'

I can't believe I'm posting this.

36 Weeks and Counting...

So, I am finally 36 weeks along now. Every move is difficult and everytime I drop something I make an old man grunt sound when I bend over to pick it up. It's scarey, but it's my life now. Lots has been going on. We finally made the big move upstairs. All the rooms are ready and I have to express my utmost respect and gratitude to Modern Antiquity (Cheyne and Kristi Turbyfil) who gave me a lovely shower and an amazing walk-in closet. Cheyne did such an amazing job so if you're ever looking for someone to do custom work on your house please keep them in mind. Enjoy the pics.

More Pics

Only 6 weeks left now!

I know I haven't updated my blog in a while, but I thought I would take the time to inform you guys of my progress as well as post some pics since I "don't post enough pictures." Anyway, things are going well. I had such a great time at the shower. Thanks to all who were able to make it. If you were there, you know that Cooper coined a new term. Cupcakes will now and forevermore be called "party cakes." Ingrid commented that she had never seen a child eat so many party cakes and egg rolls ever. I informed her that for years Asians have been able to put some food down. For instance, the winner of the hot dog eatting contest for years has been an Asian. Asians gots skillz. Even more amazing than that is my mother. Now there is a woman who can put some food away. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy the pics. Please pay special attention to Cooper's attempt at growing a mustache just like his Uncle Rynee.

Almost 32 weeks now

Well blog readers, it's almost here. On Sunday I will be 32 weeks pregnant. I can't believe how fast it has gone by. I've been through all of the normal stages of an "Arlene" pregnancy. It starts out kind of cute and people make comments like "you look so cute" and "You don't even look pregnant". Then, I begin to get comfortable and the comments change to "you're starting to show" and "it's really all in your belly". Now, I'm in the stage where my skin decides to go through puberty again and I can literally feel my stomache growing every minute and the comments have quickly changed to "Wow you look like you're ready to bust!" and "You have how much longer to go?" I can't really complain this pregnancy though. Things have gone really well so far and I feel great except for some small issues that I won't begin to discuss in my blog. Lilly is incredibly active in the belly. Occasionally, she decides to use my stomache as her own little punching bag which can be uncomfortable, but at least I know she will be able to hold her own. It may be payback for all the "playful" punching I did in my younger day.

Baby Talk

Not counting choppy english and pig latin, I have only ever spoken one language and that is English. I'm beginning to feel like baby talk should be considered a language of it's own. I say this for several reasons. First of all, the immediate family is the only group that can truly understand it. Second of all, it is communication in it's purest form. Lastly, it's way more entertaining that standard english. For instance, when Cooper says, "Wanna watch Barney and the WooWoo on the WeeWee pwayer, what would you think that meant? For those who don't know him, that translates to,"Mommy, could you please place Lets go to the Fire Station in the DVD player for me to watch." That is one of the easier translations that I have come across. Below are some other helpful vocabulary words when communicating with my son:

PV - TV
WooWoo - Fire truck or police car
BiteBites - lunch, dinner, or breakfast (depending on time of day)
Snackanajuice - What he must have after getting dressed in the morning before going to daycare
Dergomama - His response when I finally get what he is talking about
Underdacubbaz - In the bed with mommy and daddy when he is trying to avoid going to bed
Pungbob - Sponge Bob Square Pants
Cocktoons - Cartoons
Kuga - Color with crayons or markers

Cooper in the Snow

Here are pictures of Cooper and his daddy in the snow.

27 Weeks and Counting

Pregnancy Stories: I am well on my way. I'm getting bigger every hour. I am convinced that working out has no affect on your body during pregnancy. If you are supposed to be a plump pregnant person then you will be a plump pregnant person. Another discovery that has occured during this pregnancy is the fact that the hair on my legs and almost completely stopped growing. While that may be TMI for most I thought I would share it with everyone. I keep forgetting to ask my doctor about this phenom. I like it though especially since my shape doesn't exactly make shaving an easy ordeal these days.

Pictures: You asked for them and here they are. This is the only one you will be getting so I hope you enjoy it.

Thoughts:

- Shout out to Danielle on her new baby girl! I'm so happy for you girly!!

Update

Pregnancy Stories:Cooper has decided that he too has a baby sister in his belly. He got out of the bathtub yesterday and pointed to his belly and said "Baby sisto". I tried to explain to him that he couldn't possible have a baby sister in his belly and I think he understand, but I can't be too sure.

People are asking me about craving that I am having and I can easily say that I crave sweets. I am currently buying a pack of soft batch cookies a day. Last week I was really into banana splits. Who knows what it will be next week.

Pics: I mean, do you really wanna see this. If you've seen one pregnant belly, you've seen 'em all.

Thoughts
-Shout out to Kippen!! Congrats on the new baby girl!!
-Could I be more hungry?
-Thank goodness the day is almost done.

Martin Luther King Jr. Snow Day

So, what you may be wondering is our lovely family doing this snowy Monday? Well, we are trying to potty train Cooper. Unfortunately, he has been sitting on the potty now for roughly 30 minutes and produced not a drop. Keep him in your thoughts.

Thoughts for Monday, January 12, 2009

Pregnancy Stories: So far I have had a rather uneventful pregnancy. Other than a cold I kept for about 4 weeks, it has been smooth sailing which worries me. I will have pregnancy stories to share with Cooper, but what will I share with Lily. Oh well, something is bound to happen in the next 4 months. One thing I can report is that my husband dreamt that I had an affair (he wouldn't tell me with whom). I assured him that the market for 5 month pregnant women is not quite what it used to be. Although I hear Brad Pitt is really into pregnancy chicks. "So you're saying there's a chance..."

Pics: Please stay tuned for pics. I think I have gotten the courage to take a pregnancy picture of myself. I think with enough disc space and the right lighting I can come up with something to share with everyone.

Thoughts: -This one sure does move more than Cooper
-I wonder what's for lunch
-I wonder what's for dinner

The Lights at Bristol Motor Speedway

Here are some pictures of our trip to the Bristol Motor Speedway. We went with some of Cooper's family from daycare.
